Food Allergy & Meal Policy Notice

At Helping Hands Day Nursery, the health and safety of every
child is our highest priority. To ensure a safe and inclusive
environment for all children—especially those with food
allergies or dietary sensitivities—we kindly ask that families do
not send packed lunches or meals prepared at home into the
nursery.

All meals and snacks are freshly prepared on-site by our
trained food hygiene and allergy-aware staff, in accordance
with the latest Food Standards Agency guidance and Early
Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) requirements. This approach
allows us to:
✅ Prevent cross-contamination and allergic reactions.
✅ Maintain strict control over ingredients and preparation
methods.
✅ Ensure meals meet nutritional standards for early years
development.
✅ Support children with specific dietary needs in a
consistent and safe way.

We understand that food is a personal and cultural matter, and
we are committed to working closely with families to
accommodate individual needs wherever possible. If your child
has a diagnosed allergy or dietary requirement, please speak
with our team so we can create a tailored care plan.
